Why We Made a Film About Hope Before AI

For many people facing serious illnesses, time is one of the most precious resources they have. Clinical trials play a vital role in bringing new treatments to those who need them, but the process can be long and complex.

That idea became the foundation of our film. We didn't want to make a film about Aika, our AI platform for clinical trial development.

We wanted to create a film about why faster clinical development matters in the first place. Because every day gained in clinical development is another chance for someone to access treatment sooner, hold on to hope, and spend more precious moments with the people they love.

The Idea Behind the Spot

The concept behind “Firsts” film started with a simple question: what does time really mean in healthcare?

For clinical teams, time is measured in milestones, deliverables, approvals, and study timelines.

For patients, it is measured in moments: the emotion of new beginnings, the time spent with loved ones, and then, what happens when those things are put on hold. Time stops and becomes full of fear.

Clinical trial protocols are amended, on average, more than once per study. Each amendment adds weeks. Weeks become months. And behind every one of those months is a person waiting on an answer.

Speed in drug development is not a competitive metric, it is a moral one. This spot was our way of saying that out loud, as a way of reminding ourselves, and our industry, why "faster" really matters in the first place.
